Able Electric Service, Inc. is an established electrical contractor that has been serving the Dallas Metroplex since it was founded by Otis Thompson in 1963. Otis Thompson passed away in January of 2017, leaving Brian Dean, a longtime business partner since 1988, to carry on the company. Brian is now phasing out of everyday operations and entrusting his two daughters, Madison and Meredith, to continue to grow what they’ve built.
What started as a one-man operation has grown into a company of 80+ field employees. While specializing in commercial projects, Able Electric Service, Inc. also has considerable experience in industrial, voice/data/video cabling, and design/build work with CAD and electrical engineering capabilities.

Officers

Founder
Otis R Thompson, our beloved founder, started Able Electric in 1963, and unfortunately passed away in January of 2017. He had well over 50 years of experience and held a Master Electrician License. He served as a member of Code Panel #9 for the National Electric Code from 1978 to 1983 and on the Board of Directors of Independent Electrical Contractors.

CEO
Brian has worked in the electrical contracting business in virtually every capacity since 1978 and has held a Master Electrician License since 1982. He was President of IEC Dallas from 2012 - 202 and has served on the Board of Directors of Independent Electrical Contractors since 2012.
Brian has been employed with Able since 1988.

President
Meredith Dean has a Construction Management degree from Louisiana State University and has served over 7 years in commercial construction project management. She has recently taken over as President as her father phases out of everyday operations. Meredith is a graduate of IEC apprenticeship school and a licensed journeyman electrician.
Meredith has been employed with Able since 2019.

Chief Estimator | VP
Gary is a licensed Master Electrician and has worked in the electrical industry since 1989. He currently serves as Vice President and Chief Estimator and has experience in Design/Build, Commercial, Industrial, and Plan & Spec Projects ranging from $20k to $7M+.
Gary has been employed with Able since 2006.

Control Specialist
Chuck has over 40 years of experience in the electrical industry serving in various capacities ranging from field supervision to his current role as Vice President and Project Manager. He has an extensive background in Healthcare Facilities, Retail, Educational Facilities, and Industrial process controls including P.L.C. and M.M.I. applications. He is also well versed in design/build and CAD work.
Chuck has been employed with Able since 2000.

Debbie has experience in all aspects of construction accounting and management. She also has vast experience with corporate insurance, bonding, lien laws, tax laws, and employee benefits.
Debbie has been employed with Able since 1983.

Senior Estimator
Brian is a journeyman electrician with more than 20 years of experience in the commercial electrical trade as well as Industrial and Plan & Specs projects. He has managed and estimated projects up to $7M.

Casey has served over 40 years in all aspects of the electrical industry, including service management and estimating. His current role is over small design/build projects, estimating, and project management. He has experience in all types of electrical projects including public and private and has a strong background in design/build.
Casey has been employed with Able since 1993.

Product Manager
Stan is a Master Electrician and has served over 30 years in all aspects of the electrical industry ranging from field supervision of large-scale projects to his current position as Project Manager. He also has extensive experience in motors and motor controls.

Dylan is a Master Electrician with over 14 years of commercial experience. He is a Project Manager and has worked in varying positions throughout his time at Able, including his former role as a project assistant/ purchasing agent.

Eliazar is a Journeyman Electrician with 9 years of experience. Eliazar handles material procurement, tool expediting and manages the warehouse.

Gene is a Journeyman Electrician with over 45 years of experience in all aspects of the commercial and industrial electrical field. His current role is General Superintendent and Safety Manager.

Service Manager
Adam is a journeyman electrician and has served for over 20 years in many different aspects of the electrical industry. He worked as a senior foreman for 12 years before being promoted to Project Manager & Service Manager. He has a background in CAD work, controls, field supervision, and estimating.
Adam has been employed with Able since 2002.

Stacey has 15 years of accounts payable and accounts receivable experience, as well as other accounting and customer service experience in the construction industry.
